Club Activities
Club meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month, normally at Imber Court, followed by a talk from an outside speaker on a very wide range of subjects. The meeting is followed by lunch at a variety of nearby pubs or restaurants.
In addition to the second Thursday meeting, there is a local walk on the third Thursday followed by a pub lunch, and the Fourth Thursday Lunch is held at a wide variety of establishments.
Other than the fixed events above, we have a well established programme, including theatre trips, golf and bridge.
A Wine & Cheese party is held every Spring and Autumn, there is a summer Garden Party, an autumn Ladies’ Lunch, and a Christmas Party is held in December.
A regular programme of visits is organised generally within 2 hours travel from the Esher area. These are normally open to wives as well, unless there is a restriction on overall numbers. Recent visits have included Dover Castle, the Rolls Royce Car Plant, the National Air Traffic Control Centre, the Mary Rose Museum, the Albert Hall, Hever Castle and the Cabinet War Rooms.
As well as the local visits, we try each year to organise a short holiday break of 4-6 days. Recent trips have been made to Stockholm, Lake Maggiore, Cracow and Strasbourg. In 2022 there were two trips, one a Seine River Cruise and the other a trip to Sicily.
